Welcome to IAJE-Texas

Hello Everyone,

I know that you all now know about the demise of the IAJE. We were all very saddened by the recent bankruptcy notice.

Because of this bankruptcy, your IAJE Texas board has decided to dissolve the IAJE-Texas Chapter. However, we still have some commitments that we will keep for the following year.

First, the website will stay up and running in order to make the All-State Jazz play along MIDI recordings available to all Texas students and directors. Second, we will continue the Texas IAJE School Gant Program that was started last year. So, get in your grant proposals ASAP. Next, we will continue the Texas IAJE Director Symposiums that were started last year and have three more symposiums this year. And finally, the IAJE Texas board has agreed to host the Region Jazz Chair Appreciation Breakfast during the TMEA convention for this next year as well.

After each of these events are completed, your executive board will vote to dissolve the IAJE-Texas.

Thank you for your support and membership in what we feel has been a very worthwhile and much needed organization to further America’s original art form, Jazz. It has been an honor to serve each of you.

Alex Parker
President, IAJE-Texas

IAJE Texas Grants
If you are interested in applying for an IAJE-Texas Grant, you will find the application here.

TMEA ALL STATE AUDITION MIDIS
Audition material for the Region and All-State Jazz Ensembles will be selected from the TMEA-IAJE-Texas Unit All-State Jazz Ensemble Audition Etudes and the All-State Jazz Ensemble Audition Compact Disc. You can purchase these from Southern Music, RBC Music, or Penders Music. You can access the TMEA Music Industry Database to find contact information for these music retailers.

All official erratas can be found at the TMEA website.

MIDIs are now available below. You will find 3 MIDIs for each etude to practice with - one at a slower tempo, one at a medium tempo and the other at the suggested performance tempo. The slower etudes may only have 1 or 2 tempos. *Bass 3 etude links are now fixed.*

To download to your computer, please right click on the link and select "Save target as...". You should not need any special player for the MIDIs. If you find any broken or wrong links on this page, please contact webmaster@iajetexas.org.
